We get up on time and start packing, we don't take that much with us, it's only for three
nights.
We want to drive away at about ten o'clock, but last night two friends came by and that is
why it was getting late.
Ten o'clock is not possible, we leave at about half past eleven, our GPS indicates that we
are at our destination around half past three.
On the way, our GPS reports, a motorway is closed.
The GPS calculates a new route and that means a detour, about an hour extra travel time.
The last hour and a half is especially annoying, it rains hard now and then and in Germany
they seem to have never heard of ZOAB (Very Open Asphalt Concrete).
There is a lot of splashing water.
After a few rest breaks, we arrive at our hotel at 5:30, the
Best Western Victor's Residenz-Hotel Rodenhof in Saarbrücken.
We hardly ate anything on the way.
Checking in is quick and easy.
The room is neat, and there is a parking garage where we park the car.
The restaurant is open to hotel guests, which is good because we are hungry and do not want
to search in the area any more.
We eat in the hotel, there is little choice due to Corona, but the food tastes decent and
the staff are friendly and attentive.
Then we go to bed early, tired of driving.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment,
there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood,
the weather and many other factors.
